Sesquicentennial Children’s Day Celebrations

The Children’s Day celebration at the Boys’ Section began with an assembly early morning. The teachers put up a special assembly for the children with prayers, a poem and a song. After the assembly, classes 4, 5, 6 & 7 went for an Excursion to the Gravitation Fun Park, Mulshi. Classes 8, 9 & 10 enjoyed themselves on the football field where cricket matches were organised for them. Classes Prep D, I D, II D and III D witnessed a very enjoyable Magic show and Puppet Show after which they had a Drawing Competition and watched many fun videos in their classrooms. All in all it was a day of fun and enjoyment for the entire section.

Jawaharlal Nehru said,

“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.”

The morning of Monday, the 14th of November, dawned bright and clear and the brightness of the day was reflected in the high spirits of the students in the Girls’ section. The teachers came together to put up a very special programme for all the students this year.

Early in the morning, the mystified students were led into the auditorium. The teachers then showcased all their hidden talents through singing, dancing and drama. The show was periodically interrupted by the delighted squeals of the students, laughing and crying tears of joy at the same time.

The Girls’ Section also had an SUPW fete that was put up by the girls of classes 9 and 10 to raise money for charity. A plethora of intricate handicrafts and delicious food was sold by the students. The fete was a massive success and made the day even more enjoyable.

The day was filled with love and exuberance and was a cherishable one for all of us.

Children's Day was celebrated in the Prep Section with great enthusiasm. The theme for the programme was ' Celebrating the child within you '.

The morning  began with a special prayer conducted for the children followed by a short skit enacted by the teachers and a medley of songs sung by them.

This year, the parents were invited to join in the Sesquicentennial Children's Day celebrations. The children and parents worked together to create wonderful fairy gardens. This creative activity released the inner child among the parents and they were transported to days of their own childhood. In keeping with the School colours, the parents wore white and blue while the children wore vibrant coloured T shirts, each class following a colour code.

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all - A special thank you to all the parents for their wholehearted participation.
