Greetings from St. Mary’s School, Pune!

We are delighted to announce that St. Mary’s School, Pune, has a new ‘avatar’ - a vintage school with a global vision !

Yes, St. Mary’s is now an authorized International Baccalaureate World School. We have adopted the IB Diploma Programme as a giant leap towards the introduction of the latest pedagogies in education. The IBDP prepares the students not only for the world outside but for their future careers itself.

The introduction of the IBDP marks a new chapter for St. Mary’s in our mission to provide a world-class education that inspires and empowers every student.

The IB Programme is globally recognized for its rigorous academic standards, emphasis on critical thinking and the development of well-rounded individuals.

Our ‘Founding Team’ consists of a very experienced IBDP Head of School, DP Coordinator and a set of enthusiastic facilitators who are also examiners.

Our goal is for our students to enjoy their next step of their educational journey and learn to responsibly apply their new learnings.

I am grateful to the Board of Governors for entrusting me with this mammoth task of setting up the IBDP at St. Mary's. It has been extremely challenging but most satisfying.

The IBDP team has been a closely knit group that has never shirked from work and is ever-ready to help each other. Thank you, Team, for all your hard work.

Since we use a lot of ‘shared space’, I thank the Principal, Vice Principals and Faculty for their patience and cooperation.

My family has been my constant support.

I pray the Lord continues to give me health and wisdom to continue the task the nuns left behind - to educate the children for a better future!

I am humbled and proud to be the founder Diploma Programme Coordinator at a 158 year old iconic school. This marks a new chapter for St.Mary's School, Pune and for our community. We are proud to announce the opening of our new section, The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme(IBDP), a significant step forward in our mission to provide a world-class education that inspires and empowers every student.

Students in DP 1 / Grade 11 who choose to apply for the IB Diploma Program must fulfill the following requirements. He/she chooses six IBDP subjects in total from every group.
Group 1 - Studies in Language and Literature	English A Lang & Lit
Group 1 - Studies in Language and Literature	School Supported Self Taught Language A Lit SL
Group 2 - Language Acquisition	Hindi B
	French Ab Initio
	Spanish Ab Initio
Group 3 - Individuals and Societies	Business Management
	Economics
	Psychology
	Environmental Systems & Societies
Group 4 - Sciences	Biology
	Chemistry
	Physics
	Environmental Systems & Societies
Group 5 - Mathematics	Analysis & Approaches
Group 5 - Mathematics	Applications & Interpretations
Group 6 - The Arts	Visual Art
Alternatively, students may choose to take an additional subject from Group 2, 3 or 4 in place of a subject from Group 6. Of the six subjects listed above, three will be taken at the Higher Level (HL) and three at the Standard Level (SL). Additionally, the DP core consists of three main components: Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) Extended Essay (EE) Theory of Knowledge (ToK)

Admission Process

1 Click on the IBDP section to find the online application form
2 Follow instructions to submit the form online
3 Pay the non-refundable application fee of INR 5000
4 The admissions team will review the application and let the family know when the next in-person interview is scheduled via email
5 Family meets the admission team and the student is screened for aptitude in English & Mathematics (overall time 1.5 hour, 45 minutes written paper for student)
6 Within 7 days the admission team will communicate about the confirmation, if granted
7 Within 15 days of granting admission the annual / semester fees will have to be paid
