On receiving an invitation to attend the Suzuki Gala and Workshop, I was absolutely elated. The moment I saw the Royal Albert Hall, in all its majesty, I was awestruck. Of course, we were honoured, because, apart from Japan, we were the only representatives of an Asian country participating in this event. There were people from South Africa, USA, Canada, Japan, India, Australia, New Zealand, India and other countries from Europe. The Indian group interacted with some of the students and teachers there and learned about their cultures and way of teaching.
After the concert, there was a three day workshop conducted by Suzuki violinists which included a solo recital by each student. The workshop enlightened us about their unique and refreshing teaching techniques. It was a wonderful learning experience.
